Elruhma projects Approaches:

During its 6 years’ life of Elruhma, and 18 years’ life of Elruhma leading staff, the organization has accumulated lots of good practices and lessons learned has become a leading organization in the field of Peacebuilding, FSL and WASH, Elruhma is following and tested the below approaches:

  • Community Mobilization to ensure Social and Behavioral Change, and increase sense of the project ownership by the community members.
    • Usage result-based management approach during the project life cycle.
    • Usage Communication 4 Development outcomes, the bottom-up approach.
    • Ensure accountability of the affected people through set and conducting Beneficiary Feedback & complaint Mechanism for each project.
    • Address gender and equity considerations such as involving in water committees, and peace committees as well as cover gender needs.
  • Conduct project handover event, to be more meaningful, the community members, community-based mechanisms lead the event along with Elruhma to report achievement, share good practice and lessons learned, and announce the Community Action Plan for the next year after completion of the project to improve sense of ownership & ensure continuity of the project.
    • To improve staff performance, conducting Capacity Development for staff and interns through implementing 1-2 training every year, and implementing on-the-job training for new fresh graduate staff and interns.
    • Selection criteria (FSL & WASH) with gender and age considerations develop and agree to by all community-based committee members and use in the selection of the beneficiaries of each project.
  • Peace Consideration, and DO NO Harm will be adapted and following to ensure minimize the harm and do maximum good for the project interventions and beneficiaries.
    • Usage theatre activities, sports, films making, traditional songs & dance for peacebuilding activity outreach.
    • Signed Consensus Agreement between ELRUHMA and Community Water Committee that reflected the role of each partner during the project timeframe.
    • Refresh training for Community Water Committee to improve O&M including daily records and manage the Tariff Collection.
    • Usage theatre activities and films making to deliver massages related to hygiene promotion, child protection, and the importance of education.
    • Develop guidelines/ IEC materials for hygiene promotion that will be made and deliver by promoters.
